In addition to the standard potato planting machines, Koning produces the special type of planting machines for pre-sprouted potatoes. With special shaped finger belts, the potatoes are laid down gently to the soil, even at high speed. The planting system is effective, even when using cut or pre-sprouted potatoes. Besides that, this system is very suitable for planting long-shaped and also small potatoes.
Besides the potato planting machines for pre-sprouted potatoes, Koning produces the planting machines for onion sets or garlic. The system used in potatoes has already proven to be effective in onion sets as well and is an ideal solution for climates where the growing season is short.
A third activity of Koning is producing potato cutting machine. In contradiction to the machines that colleague producers make, Koning produces a machine that is cutting potatoes lengthwise and creates therefore 2 halves with an equal number of “eyes”. These both halves can of course being planted very effectively by the Koning planter.
